Southern Candle and “The Green Way”
With so much emphasis placed on “going green” and being environmentally conscious today, Southern Candle leads the way. Using only glass jars made in the US, the containers are able to be recycled. Additionally, we use soy wax for our candles. Soy candles offer many benefits over paraffin candles, not the least of which is that it is made from soy plants that can be replanted after each harvest. It is so “natural”, the candle wax can even be ingested with no fear of harmful side effects. The wick used in our scented candles is free from any toxins. It is made from 100% cotton fibers and contains no lead or zinc. In keeping with the spirit of recycling, we offer the customers the option to bring back their empty containers and have them refilled at a fraction of the price of buying new ones. This is of course, primarily beneficial to our local customers, but any who buy online and find themselves passing by the area are free to drop off their jars to be refilled or reused. For those not local or close at hand, there are a variety of other options for using the empty jars. Because it is soy wax, it washes out easily and completely so the jar can be put to some other use rather than simply adding to the already too full landfills. Every effort to preserve Mother Nature counts and Southern Candle wants to do its’ part.
